Giving Tuesday (And All Year Round)
Have you joined the movement? After Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday; a day dedicated to giving back and uniting communities.
Today I am writing about this movement not just to remind you personally of this day of generosity, but also professionally.
Social impact-driven initiatives are a proven way to engage employees and can lead to higher rates of recruitment, productivity, satisfaction, and retention. The best part? It can start now, and all year round.
If you’re part of a large organization, your company likely already has philanthropic programs in place but that doesn’t mean you can’t make an effort to do more among your department or team.
Here are a few ways you can keep on giving (and benefit your team morale):
Volunteer Together. Make this part of your strategy and mark your calendars now.
Purchase from brands that give back. Need an employee or customer gift, take the time to source intentionally and purchase from brands that are doing good.
Wine and Dine locally. Your support to small, local businesses makes an impact.
Elevate your perks. Companies such as WholeHearted do exactly this. Whether it is team building with heart, intentional gifting, or professional development programs with a give-back component, this organization prides itself on employee engagement through social impact initiatives.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be writing about strategic planning for the new year and covering topics such as the great resignation. It’s time for change, and together we can do so much better.
