Sidetracked...Busy...or Off-Track?
I thought that the reason I hadn’t written anything on this blog for some time was that I had been sidetracked. For me, sidetracked came in the form of a “surprise!” surgery during COVID-19 (fine now) along with the recovery, Christmas in isolation with my family, and starting the new year with all 4 humans here at home. Exhale.
When I am honest with myself, I realize that the reason I didn’t write was more that of being off-track; just not myself. I was not feeling strong. I took a break, and I used that break.
After a re-set and refresh, my cup runneth over. I have never been more inspired by the leadership I’m seeing from women, from organizations stepping up and creating uncomfortable and necessary change. I’m inspired by the hard work, blood sweat, and tears of it all and have rolled up my sleeves. How about you?
So, here are my thoughts as we wrap up January, short and sweet.
1. We are stronger than we ever believed we could ever be because we had to be.
2. There is a (smart, accomplished, BIPOC) Woman in the White House.
3. There is hope and joy that we can soon begin to feel normal again as a Vaccine floods the world.
I miss interacting with all of you – I enjoyed each January planning the workshops, conferences, and speaking gigs where I usually connect with you folks in person. I am really looking forward to seeing you later this year. Hang in and be strong when you can. When you can’t, reach out and ask for help. No one can be strong all the time. Stop trying!
I look forward to connecting again each week in my Newsletter – and will soon return with my Courageous Leaders series.
Hope and joy, strength, and perseverance; this is my focus for 2021, day by day, month by month.
What is yours?
